Vettel back on top step of podium

Mark Webber shows his anger (finger gesture)
So, another Malaysian Grand Prix and some more rain again. Vettel is back on the top step of the podium stole the top step of the podium from team mate Mark Webber. It appears the poor Aussie was told to conserve his car, turning down his engine mappings to finish the race for Red Bull Racing P1 and P2. As he did that, his German team mate decided it's a good time to take advantage and steal the victory. Plenty of harsh and stern words during the post-race interview and all media interviews after... Looks like the Dream Team is shattered!

Highlight of the race: Hamilton forgot he changed teams and went back to McLaren for a pit stop today, before being denied service and heading to his new team in shame (and an extra 6 seconds to his stop). His Mercedes team mate Rosberg is left fuming after having a heated argument with team boss Ross Brawn during the last 5 laps to pass a fuel saving Hamilton.

Racing in Slow Motion IV [VID]

Another awesome racing video I discovered through CarMagSA today. 15 minutes and you'll understand just why motorsports is so amazing! There's also a great and touching tribute to Italian MotoGP star Marco Simoncelli.

Post race investigation announced that Schumi may have failed to slow down for yellow flags during the latter few laps of the race. If found guilty, he may lose his podium position...

Schumi still geat, but...

Michael Schumacher showed his true form last Saturday with an awesome pole lap during Qualifying. Sadly, because of Mr Ecclestone, all videos of the lap on YouTube has been blocked or taken off-line. I'm sure if you tune in to Sky F1 channel (in the UK) you'll probably still be able to catch it. The race ended pretty badly with a fuel pump issue for Schumi after posting some blistering lap time to eat into Massa's 6th place lead. What really worried me is this picture after Quali... I'm just really not so sure about the angle, and hand/arm position of our German friend...

Williams F1 ends day with garage fire

It was supposed to be a wonderful, fairytale like day for Williams F1. The team ended today's Spanish Grand Prix with Pastor Maldonado taking his maiden win, after his first-ever pole position and his team's first win since 2004. Very recently, Sir Frank - the team stalwart - celebrated his 70th birthday. It all turned out brilliantly for the English team, until about 30 minutes ago. News of a garage fire lit up Twitter this evening. Have a look at the team statement, in which at least three team members are still hospitalised.

Hamilton penalty, loses pole!

Interesting news from the Spanish Grand Prix paddock. After a rather "normal" qualifying session earlier in the day, Lewis Hamilton has now been penalised by the stewards and loses pole position.

Formula 1 under threat in Bahrain

For several hours today, Formula1.com - official website of the pinnacle of motor sport - was taken down by Anonymous. They posted a rather harsh press release (see link below) mostly detailing the problems, as they see it, in Bahrain ahead of the F1 return. Just a day earlier, a shuttle bus taking Force India mechanics back to the hotel happened to have gone near a petrol bomb attack. This led the team to withdraw from Free Practice 2 to get there guys to the hotel before nightfall.

Merc locks out front row in China

What an amazing Qualifying today at the F1 Chinese Grand Prix. Rosberg put in a 1:35.1, over half a second faster than P2 man, Hamilton. Before the 10 minutes even came close to ending, Nico walked out of his car full of confidence and went to the weighbridge. So with a five-place penalty befalling Hamilton, Michael Schumacher will start tomorrow's race next to his team mate on the front row! It's been a great start of the year for Schumi, starting P4, P3 and now P2.

Is Vettel losing his cool?

The Maysian Grand Prix was really fun to watch. It brought back good memories of a mixed up grid like it was in Canada last year, thanks to the changing weather conditions. But something more interesting is Vettel's new lack of composure. Red Bull isn't doing well on track because their car isn't that competitive. The new 2012 contender definitely isn't performing well in Qualifying.

Kimi is as funny as ever

So the F1 season started. The Australia race last weekend wasn't particularly interesting. The good news is that, at the moment, Red Bull isn't running away with it. In fact, McLaren is much stronger with Button winning and a Hamilton pole on Saturday. The best part of the rather usual race is when Kimi came on his team radio shouting: "why are they waving blue flags at me!?" Quite correctly, his engineer said it was for the cars he was lapping. Real funny stuff from the Iceman.

#Sauber C31 unveiled @OfficialSF1Team

Sauber unveiled their 2012 F1 racer today. It's called the C31. I really like the livery but I did find it reminiscent of something from the 90s. After lunch, I finally figured out what it is. Doesn't the new livery look very much like the old British Airways "Landor" livery from 1984-1997? Oh yeah, they also have that funny new nose everyone else seems to be going for. Ferrari rolls out F2012 #F1 contender

The F1 cars are rolling out around the European team bases. Earlier this week, we had the McLaren launch. Today it was the turn of Force India and Ferrari. Problem with Ferrari is that due to the big Europe Freeze, they had to call off their official launch event. But, at least they've put a number of studio shots of the F2012 for us to have a look at.

#F1 balance tilts again

A couple of big news stories broke over the past few days in the world of Formula 1 which, once again, throws the sport into uncertainty. After an epic season which only just ended over a week ago, it's a shame to see it all fall to pieces now that the winter break is upon us.

Toyota Motorsport announces #LeMans drivers

The driver line-up for Toyota's return to Le Mans next year, and the inaugural FIA World Endurance Championships, was announced yesterday. By golly are they serious at Toyota Motorsport GmbH in Cologne, Germany. Of the three drivers, two have taken part in the legendary Le Mans race. Alexander Wurz, former F1 driver for Benetton, McLaren and the Toyota-powered Williams teams, took the chequered flag at the Circuit de la Sarthe twice in 1996 and 2009.

Amazing Mr Bean reaction at #F1 in India

This is some really amazing stuff from Rowan Atkinson. I've been watching F1 for over a decade, but I've never seen such vivid reactions from any celebrity during races. They all seem so overly calm, it always seem like they have no clue what's going on and that they don't really care (which is quite likely, actually). But Mr Bean blew that away! Invite more comedians to F1! Especially if they're motorsport fans!

First ever #F1 Indian GP: Missed opportunities

So once again, Sebastian Vettel won this weekend. He's took pole, led every lap and pushed to get fastest lap in the first ever Indian Grand Prix. As I write this, the BBC also seemed to have failed the broadcast at just the right moment - it's gone silent. Still, I excepted red flags because of stray dogs and broken video feed all the way through, after seeing what was happening from Thursday on.

#F1 goes to India, and it's not going well

So, this weekend, the Formula 1 circus moves camp to the Buddh International Circuit nearly Delhi, India. However, as this morning progressed, and the media pundits familiarise themselves with the circuit and its facilities, they seem to all be encountering niggles here and there.

Jezza's live action Forza 4 trailer

Jalopnik called it "Jeremy Clarkson’s epic Forza Motorsport 4 live-action trailer" and how right they were. It's really quite spectacularly beautiful and really rather epic. The ad, featuring a frustrated petrolhead stuck in any city you can imagine, in congestion, and general greyness and misery, finding an outlet through an Aston Martin.

History of #Ferrari Prancing Horse [Video]

I just came across this fascinating video explaining the history behind the iconic Prancing Horse logo which adorns some of the world's fastest and most prestige cars and race cars. My knowledge of Ferrari only got me to about 50% of what was explained in this video. Have a look!
