Normally, I'd find this a bit difficult to place for the audience I have on this blog. But this one's different. It's the latest ad from Toyota South Africa for the new FJ Cruiser. The reason why I would normally stray away from posting this kind of thing is because this ad is so South African centric. It will be very difficult for a non-SA guy to get the joke. However, it's so funny I - as a South African - rolled around laughing all morning yesterday.

Hugo (2011)
I remember seeing the trailer for Hugo while waiting for Tintin to play in South Africa and thinking: "I have the watch this." I had no clue what Hugo was about, yet the imagery was so spectacular that I really wanted to watch it. Well I've finally done that now. It's impressive, but it's also not without its faults. This is one of the few occasions when I can say that the nominations for this year's Oscars is not so bad, seeing as Hugo got 11 nominations.

#Sauber C31 unveiled @OfficialSF1Team
Sauber unveiled their 2012 F1 racer today. It's called the C31. I really like the livery but I did find it reminiscent of something from the 90s. After lunch, I finally figured out what it is. Doesn't the new livery look very much like the old British Airways "Landor" livery from 1984-1997? Oh yeah, they also have that funny new nose everyone else seems to be going for. Ferrari rolls out F2012 #F1 contender
The F1 cars are rolling out around the European team bases. Earlier this week, we had the McLaren launch. Today it was the turn of Force India and Ferrari. Problem with Ferrari is that due to the big Europe Freeze, they had to call off their official launch event. But, at least they've put a number of studio shots of the F2012 for us to have a look at.

#Toyota to tackle Mulsanne Straight with #hybrid power
Ok, ok... I'm super late with this post because the news has been out for over a week. I know, because I've been busy posting it elsewhere. But, better late than never I say!
So Toyota Motorsport GmbH, based in Cologne, announced not so long ago that they plan to enter this year's FIA World Endurance Championships. Long story short, the new series is the first endurance series is given a world championship status. Not only is that awesome, because Toyota's earlier try was with the GT-One, a simply awesome looking beast, but they plan to do it now with hybrid power.
