Hilux conquers the final frontier

Remember when Top Gear went to the North Pole (video after the break)? They opted to use a Toyota Hilux to cart Clarkson and May around because it was the most reliable car ever built (which they proved). Well, the guys who prepared the trucks giving it bigger wheels and toughened suspensions, Arctic Trucks, tackled the other side of the world this time around - the Antarctic.

Kimi is as funny as ever

So the F1 season started. The Australia race last weekend wasn't particularly interesting. The good news is that, at the moment, Red Bull isn't running away with it. In fact, McLaren is much stronger with Button winning and a Hamilton pole on Saturday. The best part of the rather usual race is when Kimi came on his team radio shouting: "why are they waving blue flags at me!?" Quite correctly, his engineer said it was for the cars he was lapping. Real funny stuff from the Iceman.

It's like they had a crystal ball

The organisers of Le Mans, the ACO (West Automobile Club of France), just published their first poster to promote the race. According to the official blurb, their agency wanted to highlight what is to become an epic duel between Toyota and Audi - both running hybrid racers for the 24 hour race, and this year's FIA World Endurance Championships. I love the poster, which will now adorn all parts of France. I love it because Toyota is way in front and Audi is lagging behind. Amazing... It's like ACO had a crystal ball because this will happen. Yes, I'm a Toyota Hybrid Racing supporter :)

Toyota GT86 Design Story [VID]

Just before the weekend, Toyota Europe posted this four part video series featuring the company's design chief talking about the design inspirations of the GT86 sports coupe. In the videos, Dezi Nagaya explains the inspirations from Toyota's sports car heritage and the 2000GT. He also discusses the design cues for both the exterior and the interior spaces, before moving on to the new "86" logo. Did you know that the logo also features a four-wheel drift? Playlist after the break.

SimCity is back! (at least it will be in 2013)

Great news today. Well, it's a bit old now, but I only saw it today. Maxis is bringing SimCity back next year after nearly a decade break. I've put up the trailer below courtesy of Electronic Arts, and it looks spectacular.

Dancing flashmob at Geneva Motor Show

I caught this yesterday as I was about to leave the Geneva Motor Show at the end of the day. The girls (and one or two boys) on the Toyota stand performed a flashmob to celebrate the end of the day and wave goodbye to the first group of visitors of this two week show. It's a fun video. Have a look! (I think there's a problem with the sound, I'm sorry about that!)

Day 2 at Geneva #SIAG

Live from Geneva #SIAG

After a terribly delayed flight due to blizzard in Brussels and bomb scare in the airport, I'm here. Here are some latest pics from Geneva. I'll keep updating as I snap.
