Felix jumps his way into record books

I have to admit, I didn't really think the edge of space jump is so interesting to start with. Always thought it was just a massive marketing stunt and doesn't really have much substance. The marketing part I still stand by, but the jump... My word do you need some impressive... nerves of steel.


Last year, I jumped off the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa at the world's highest bungee jump. The jump, in comparison to Felix's insane world record jump, is just 216m. Felix's jump is over 180x that... That sensation is something I can't forget too easily. Just looking at him hop out with ease down that kind of distance to the ground is pretty scary. Not even a peep as he hopped out of his capsule.

Well done to Red Bull for a good marketing stunt. Although I still question the 8 million global viewership figures on YouTube. Surely there were more at the peak of the jump... But, congrats to Felix Baumgartner for his massive cojones!
